Light bar

Installed a 20" light Bar mounted on front of Lock n ride roof. Also ordered Green lens to cover when riding to stands. Will use mostly as a work light skinning deer as we have no electricity at one of the deer camps. Will run it off of BlueTop Optima battery mounted in place where the Polaris 12V auxiliary battery kit usually mounts

A little battery trouble

So wife was going out to get the mail and said the EV wouldn't "start". SOC meter at one bar and flashing. I metered one battery at 2.7vdc and one at 7.9vdc. They had all been ok a few days before, and charger showing ok with the green dash indicator. Very surprising to me, this one metered 12.7vdc! There was no explosion that we are aware of, and if it froze, it has been working ok for 7 months since the last freezing temps! The opposite end was blown out also. It made a real mess of my carefully reconditioned trays.

Time for a trip back to my "recycled forklift battery guy"!

New to me Polaris EV I think 2011

I recently got a EV and when I plug in a charge it blinks green like it's charging correctly but then I'll come back hoping to find a solid green but it's blinking orange. Handbook says it's overheated or something but that doesn't make sense as it almost always does this in cool places. It runs fine for about an hour but then it dies and dies quick. I think the batteries were replaced 2 years ago. Ha anyone had this experience? I was going to take it by a Polaris dealer and have them check it out but wanted to try this first.

Greasing bushings

When y'all grease the bushings on your EV do you use the polaris grease? If not, what do you use? I have not greased mine yet and it's getting louder by the day.

Dave's Super Bushings are on the list of add ons, but probably won't get to that until spring.

Friend brought me his 2010 EV to fix a few problems. Plugged the charger in and immediately got the 6 red flash code. Opened the 48V fuse holder behind the contractor and as I suspected the middle fuse was burnt. Cut the middle 2 wires and installed a inline 20 amp large spade fuse holder. Plug the charger back in and started charging and blinking green. After a few minutes I noticed a burning odor and put my hand on the MPC and it was so hot you could not hold it. So the next thing is to replace the MPC plug. I have been using the red Anderson power 50amp connectors for 6-10 gauge wiring.
I would like to know what other connectors others have tried and like. what is their name and where can they be ordered.
Thanks

Have a 2012 that I am replacing the battery bolts also moves in reverse but not forward. Has 60 hours on it. The forward light does not come on but it could b blown. One of the 2amp 12v red wires that goes to the center battery + is not connected. The controller light is solid green. All the battery cables and terminal post look good. Just started on it and thought i might see if anyone had similar problems w Forward and reverse

Possible improvements for EV overheating

If anyone is having this issue I've found some improvement in removing the storage trays under the seat (improved airflow) and making sure to run max rated tire pressures which reduces rolling resistance. So far we see improvements in doing these two items. Lastly as others have mentioned install a fan for the motor and in warmer weather turn it on before cart overheats. Once it gets hot the fan doesn't do any good.

Would you buy one if you are 60 mi from dealer?

Hello -

Been reading a bunch, and trying to decide between the Ranger EV and a Kubota RTV 500. I prefer the EV for several reasons, but am a bit concerned about reliability. The closest dealer is 60 miles away, and I work all day, so taking it in for some of the issues noted on this forum would be a problem. The Kubota dealer is close by, and my Kubota tractor has been very reliable.

I also worry because even the close dealers to me in Virginia don't seem to see too many EVs, so if I took it in for repairs they might not be very knowledgeable.

Thanks for anyone's thoughts.

I need a recommendation please. I have a 2015 Polaris Ranger Mid Size EV with a 2.5 MMA Lift and 27x14 tires..I get a fair amount of creaking and popping from the front springs going over rough terrain and while turning. All came after the MMA lift. What can I do to alleviate this? Should I remove the lift and add forward A arms? I just want the creaking and popping gone while still running my 27" tires.
Thanks

Battery recommendations?

Getting close to replacement time for my batteries. I am not interested in doing the lithium conversion. That being said, I would like to hear your experience with different batteries. Any specifics you can share would be appreciated. I am running GBC Grim Reaper Radial (8ply) ATV Tires [26x9-12] all the way around.

My 2012 EV had been sitting for about two weeks and I went to move it and the wrench light was on intitualy like normal and when I changed to reverse the high temp light came on. The batteries had been fully charged. Would the 12 volt accessories wire have anything to do with it. Just throwing stuff out there bc it's dead now. I don't hear the solenoid changing gears but the wrench won't go off. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks Finch

Installed the new Garmin Drive Track 70 LMT in the EV LSV.
Has Backcamp and Birdseye mapping. Will probably add Hunt View.
I'll use this to map back country roads and trails when off-road....
and of course, to track the dog when hunting grouse, pheasant and quail.
His Garmin GPS collar and the hand held mate up beautifully.

tried to post a pic but site won't let me.

Question about charging system

Hello everyone from N Texas. I have owned a 2010 EV since new in 2010. I'm on my second set of conventional batteries. I have been aware that the battery pack is getting weaker since the first of the year. Due to some health issues, the unit has been sitting at my farm off the charger for 2 months. When I finally made it out there to check on things yesterday, I found it, not surprisingly, DOA.
The surprising thing, at least to me, is there was no response at all when I plugged it up to try to charge it. The blinking green light on the dash did nothing. I should mention here that everything to do with the charging system operated normally prior to parking it the last time.
I'm pretty sure the two months sitting has finished off the batteries. My question is: Can the batteries be so dead that the charger will not attempt to charge? If this is not the cause, does anyone have any ideas about what it might be? Thanks for the help.

AWD not working

2012 EV will not turn front tires. I jacked up the rear and selected AWD. The switch light comes on but the front tires will not pull. I unplugged the connector to the front coil and checked the voltage. The voltage goes from -.23 to 2.0 when I select AWD. Any ideas on why I?m not getting 12 volts?
