Battery Charger

I ran the batteries down on my Ranger EV. When I tried to charge the EV, two blinking red lights show, indicating low voltage. So, I disconnected each battery and charged all eight individually (with a different charger). Now the meter is showing a full charge yet, the two red blinking lights are still there when I attempt to use the on-board charger. I've check and double check all connections. All the batteries check out between 12.4 - 12.7 volts.

Any help with this problem is greatly appreciated.

I'm about to buy a Polaris ranger ev and wanted to verify that it has the charger upgrade. How do I tell if it has been done? Is it simply checking for two separate cables coming from the delta q charger?

Thanks

wind noise

I have a 2016 EV with 8.5 hours on it. At about 15/20mph a low tone wind noise begins to build an gets loud enough to be annoying. Particularly since I bought it for quite. Now if I raise the bed and go the speed the noise will not build. I have tried some bubble wrap stuffed in various holes etc. No luck. Has anyone have an answer? Thanks

I have a 2012 Polaris EV that when receives full acceleration, slips and sputters like a slipping clutch. If I accelerate slower, it is ok. Wonder if others have had this issue

New Algorithm

I've changed my algorithm to 11 from the preset 73. But I know a lot of people are also going to 71. So I changed it to 71. Thought about it some more and went back to 11. Now I don't know which way to go LOL. I guess I'm wondering if anyone who has changed to 11 have had any issues (of any kind) with over charging and all the goodies the old 73 algorithm gave us? The constant watering, the corrosion, wet batteries, etc.

Thanks in advance!

What size battery(s) (Ah) do you use for SuperWinch Tera 4500? One or two?

2011 diesel ranger thinking of going to the ranger ev

I have a 2011 Ranger diesel and am considering going to a 2015 Ranger EV. I currently use my ranger for yard work, riding around town, and ice fishing. Looking for concerns and thoughts about using it in cold Iowa winters. Thanks

Battery cleaning

Looking for some tips on cleaning off the tops of the batteries. I have been using the machine a lot lately and see there is a lot of dust, dirt and probably some acid on the batteries. I've read to use one part water and one part baking soda but, what is the best way to use it? Pour it on, then wipe off with a rag? Can you hose them after? Just wondering what everybody's doing.

Problem - Charger Algorithm Change

I just took delivery on a 2016 Ranger EV. As far as I can see there is no difference from 2015. My problem is that I have been trying to change the charger algorithm to 11 (from 73). I have tried probably 20 times to get it to work, no luck. I have read and reread the procedure and I can't see anything that I might be doing wrong. One time in the middle of all those tries I got an indication of 126, but could not get anything else - I did not change to 126. I have tried, while seeing the 73, holding the wires together for 10+ seconds and I hear the click followed by flashing lights similar to the boot cycle, but, of course, the resulting algorithm is still 73. Except for that one time seeing 126, its as if there is only one algorithm (73) available. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Grease and grease points?

Working on my 5 posts for a service manual but got my recently purchased 2010 EV all apart for new battery trays and I might as well grease stuff. What should I grease? Drive shaft U-joints? Are there sockets for a grease gun somewhere cause I don't see any so far.

EV Troubles

Hello, I am a new member.
I have a 2013 Ranger EV. I've had problems with it, one of which was the algorithm / charging issue. Following the advice on this forum we were able to correct it.
A new problem now; when the key is turned on, and from neutral I shift to forward, the "F" does not display, it remains"N". When the accelorator is depressed it does not move and the Red Wrench shows. It does work in Reverse. Any advice would be appreciated!

2012 EV will not start - controller blinks 3 times

We bought a second hand Polaris 4 weeks ago. It's been a great UTV for the first 3 weeks on our hilly, muddy farm, but has recently developed a fault.

After driving somewhere and then being turned off, it wont start again. (Despite having a near-full charge). Hours later, it would restart.

Now it won't start at all and the led on the controller is now blinking 3 times. According to the controller manual, this translates to one of:

  • Fault in electronic power switching circuit
  • Hardware over voltage activated
  • Hardware over current trip activated

I've yet to test the batteries with a multimeter, but I have at least checked that the water levels in each are ok.

Has anyone here heard of a problem like this?
