I have installed a Battery Minder Model #2012-AGM 12 Volt, 2 Amp battery charger/maintainer/desulfator as an on-board charger for the 2 12v 30AH AGM winch batteries connected in parallel (12v 60AH). I hard wired/spliced it into the Delta Q charger's 120 volt input power cord. This powers the 2012-AGM and charges the winch batteries when the EV LSV Delta Q Charger is plugged in.
The 2012-AGM is:
Specifically engineered to charge the OEM Polaris AGM winch batteries (among others) with the following specs:
- Micro processor controlled
- AGM specific charging program
- 4 charging stages including a maintenance and pulse desulfating stage
- can't over charge
- temperature compensated
- battery condition indicator
- bad cell detector
- water resistant
- power, polarity, load, indicators
- charging stage indicator
- charge level indicator
- auto disconnect and auto resume modes
- short circuit, spark, polarity and thermal runaway protection
- efficient low cost operation
- power, ring terminal and clip cords included.
