4 battery solution for Ranger EV?

Hi all,

I have two Ranger EV's which I use for doing work on my property.

Both of them need new batteries and I was wondering whether I really need to have 8 batteries in them and could instead go with just 4?

The Ranger EV is basically two 48V batteries (4 12v's in series, two banks) and so I understand I would lose half my range this way but I was wondering if anyone knows if this can be done?
