I have a 2011 Polaris Crew 800
I've had a 3 year problem that has been an every now and then problem.
The unit would run fine it seemed on cool days and on warm days after running for long periods of time the engine would start running rough and die at idle or bog when trying to accelerate and eventually die. Let set for a few minutes and off and running again.
I replaced the fuel pump with OEM pump and problem still existed. Fast forward 1-1/2 years and problem happening more frequently. Installed inline fuel filter, no difference. Higher octane fuel, fuel additive, water treatment, no difference and this past weekend 3 miles from camp at 9:30Pm started running rough and died. Set for a few minutes and tried to crank and spit and sputtered and then will not attempt to start. Removed rear seat, removed fuel filter, turned key over and heard what seems to be fuel pump pressuring up but no fuel through line. (Should there be fuel when you hear this?) (Is it really pressuring up?) Or is there electronic sensors or ECM's that tell pump to pressure up? Removed air filter and sprinkled a little gas from fuel filter replaced and turned over switch and fired up but died immediately. Replaced filter and fuel line and wouldn't fire again. It is not getting fuel but I was thinking it was heat related and vaporizing the fuel but now its cold, not firing and is obviously not getting fuel. My coolant fan comes on at 204 and shuts off at 194 like clockwork.
Any advise?
